Will Sky Movies ever show good movies?

In the morning they show films i have never heard of before or seen and when i tune in to see one of them i just switch over because it looks so boring. Will sky movies ever show good movies in the daytime?. Here is a list of movies iw ould like Sky Movies to show, and maybe some other people would like them too.

1. My Girl (rated PG)
2. Father of the Bride (Rated PG) steve martin
3. Sister Act (Rated PG)
4. Home Alone (Rated PG)
5. Ace Venture: Pet Detective (Rated PG)
6. Jungle Book 1967(Rated U)
7. Peter Pan 1953 (Rated U)
8. The Little Mermaid (Rated U)
9. Now and Then (Rated PG) christina ricci

they could all these great movies and i bet they will have millions of veiwers tuning in every morning and afternoon to watch these great classic movies.

in the evening they could also be showing these great movies.

1. Never Been Kissed
2. Bring it On
3. Me Myself and Irene
4. Fight Club
5. The Others
6. When Harry met Sally
7. Sleepless in Seattle
8. You've Got Mail
9. Austin Powers

i hope one day they will show these great movies, i know there are more great movies and they should start showing them and not these movies people dont know, and never heard of with actors ive never seen before.
 
why dont they show 12+ rated movies in the daytime?? afterall, the digibox does have a PIN facility.

in answer to your question, no way! :D we'll probably be stuck with a wrath of more AIR BUD movies, e.g. Air bud 65, bud does it doggy style. all puns intened! :D :D :eek:
 
AIR BUD really annoys me i think that movie sucks big time. They also show crap movies like Baby's Day Out and other crap, i just hope they will show good movies soon because sky movies will go downhill. The morning movies are dumb, the afternoon are worse and then the evenings are pretty good. In the morning i would love to tune in to Sky Movies and be able to watch My Girl, The Jungle Book, Sister Act, Home and Peter Pan. In the afternoon i would love to watch Groundhog Day, Now and Then, The Little Mermiad, MermaiRAB and You've Got Mail There are more movies but i dont want to list them all, there are over 100 movies out there that are good and sky movies never show them, it is really sad. They show stupid kiRAB movies, and idependent movies. They show like Air Bud, Baby of the Bride, Baby's Day Out, Like Mike not alot of people like that, i just wish they show all the good movies. I also wish they show like, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, The Terminator and My Best FrienRAB Wedding. Come on Sky Movies wake up please.
 
As was explained in your other thread on this topic, many of the films you mentioned are currently doing the rounRAB on other channels. Very often it is a rights issue but other times it is Sky's rotation method where a film may be on every week for six months but then it's not on for another six months. Of the 18 films that you list, many have been on ITV/ITV2 recently, Fight Club has been on BBC2 AND BBC3 since Christmas and some of the others are Disney films and have been shown on the Disney channel or terrestrial in the past.

Sky Movies is obviously not going to match everybody's taste and I agree that it could do with a little more variety, but just because you've never heard of a film or never seen it before doesn't mean it's not worth giving a chance nor does it mean that nobody else will like it. You may not enjoy it but at least you are able to make an informed judgement by viewing it. As a big movie fan, the above factors actually make me WANT to watch something! If we only watched the things we liked or knew about we'd all have rather limited taste.

And by the way, there are a lot more than 100 good movies out there - there's over a century of cinema to choose from :)
 
Anything sky put out is absolute rubbish these days, the films channels are no different, they just show the cheapest ones available that they can get away with, they're not bothered if you watch it or not, just as long as you keep paying for it........suckers!!!
 
Many of the films you want to see in the evening have already been and gone.

Sky Movies show films that are approx 1and a half years old. Its hardly Sky's fault if Hollywood havent made any decent films lately.

During the day is a problem but then they have to cater for everyone. The majority of their audiences are in the evening anyway and Sky have to show the crappy Air BuRAB at some point as they have paid for them.
 
Exactly. My grandmother would be mortified if they took away her daily dose of Nero Wolfe Mysteries/Columbo movie/Murder She Wrote movie. And there must be somebody out there who likes Air Bud!
 
Sky Movies will show good movies if the movie studios provide good movies. Blame the suppliers not the broadcaster.
Daytime is always more tricky as they can only currently show U and PG movies.

At some point all of those films you mention have been shown on Sky Movies , maybe not at the same time , that is up to who owns the movie rights and various deals the studios have that determine where films are shown and when.
