will sitting on a bike help me lose belly fat?

honestly, i am asking this to prove a point to a friend in my fitness class.

you know those bikes at the gym, where you sit your ass down and just pedal? does that help one lose BELLY fat? i mean, even if you are on a 'cardio' or 'workout' setting?

now, what will help one lose belly fat at the gym?

Yes! You cant spot target fat. If you lose,you lose all over. You only chissel the part you excersize. But fat is lost all over.
 
lose fat, yes. tone your stomach muscles so you don't have tummy flab, no.
if you are trying to tone your stomach muscles you need to do exercises that work your sides, back and stomach. weightlifting, sit ups, crunches, etc.
