well they cant really fix it because the loophole is in the BIS server by itself and its not a problem that they can fix the BIS is like that and thats it. All they can do is cancel the plan but we will already be on it so no problems for us

I will not be unhappy if you're right but they can block the loophole it has already been proven just not sure if they know.

See if someone had there account blocked for data prior to adding this plan NONE of these loopholes work for them, so don't you think Rogers could just implement that on our accounts as well?

Time will tell I guess but if we all are using 100mb a month even 50mb on this plan I think alarms will go off at Rogers hope not but I'm prepared

I dont belive they can track what data is used for. And BB can have up to 10 email accounts set up, so if this is for private photography business, 10*30 emails a day*200 kb(each one has a photo and a document attached)= 6 mb a day on avarage *30 =180 MB of data a month. Hey rogers are the once who offered such a thing, too bad !!! And in regards to alarms, thing is, not to many people know about rabroad, well the once that use rogers either way, then even less of the rogers subscribers actually attend the forum daily, hence not nowing what is possible. We would be fine for a while.

hehe i know when i discovered that glitch i was like HUH ? lol so i kept doing my experiences and ends up yeah i was right then a couple days ago i got my bill and i was even happier lol

When I signed up for this plan because of the Opera loophole I called a data CSR and said "so everything is set on your end so I cant get any extra data charges or overages with this plan is that right?" His reply "That is correct sir" so even if they do some magical way find out I am using this plan for data other than email/IM and try charging me I'll have them reverse the charges anyway

exactly what the people at rogers told me too. if u get charged call and get them to waive because you CANNOT get billed. I think the automated billing system does not charge for data because its setup not to when on that plan.

I think the only thing we have to worry about it is someone at Rogers for whatever reason investigating data usages on this plan and going "WTF this guys using 300mb a month! and him and him etc". And they pull the plan Other than that ya probably an automated billing system.

hahah nice, i am waiting on my curve, im going to use your books and setup all of my stuff such as maps and im, dude this is too funny rogers cant complain because there is no cap and they cant tell you to not use that much unlimited data lol.

The one Gotcha, is the next release of BIS and BES that is coming out. Do you think that Rogers may be pushing RIM for an bit of code included in this update that tracks, or plugs the loophole? If your contacts also state, "No Web Browsing", or explicitly states that only email, PIN, etc, is not included in the plan, wouldn't it be nice for Rogers to get a nice BIS update, track you and then wham you with a big bill, or a $400 charge for breaking contract.

Not against you, just playing devil's advocate, as a BES administrator I do not think this is so far fetched. If you could see what can be tracked and controlled with a BES, you could see this coming, esp. if RIM sees it as a great tool for other BIS providers in the global market place.
