Will riding my bike everyday help build muscle in my legs?

I have decided to add biking to my exercise routine since I live next to a bike bath. The route that I have been using and would like to use everyday is about 15 or 16 miles long ( that includes there and back ) At the same time I am trying to gain weight and cannot afford to loose any weight. I need help with this because I don`t now a lot about exercising.Will riding my bike everyday help build muscle in my legs but not cause weight loss? Thanks =)
