It is haram to paint pictures of human beings anyway. Why he chooses to paint idols, especially in the nude, is beyond me. Has nothing to do with Islam.
He finds it an intellectual hobby to paint Hindu goddesses in the nude and calls it artistic freedom. Would he have the guts to paint his Islamic Prophet Mohamed just in a plain Kandoora (Arabic National Dress)? or paint Islam's Prophet with his many wives?
