Will peanut butter soak thc and get me high without cooking?

i was reading a firectracker recipe and they said that if you want you can put some weed on the peanut butter and let it stand there for a few days and the peanut butter will soak up the thc and it will get you high no cooking or baking involved but you can to speed the process up. is this true? ui dont wanna bake because of the smell.
