While I have the internet connected with the modem if i were to put the ethernet cable into my computer could I some how use it to make a wireless connection?

Yes. You would have to connect the USB modem to a PC that is always on (preferably a desktop, which we will call the 'Host' from now on). Then once the Host is online, you will need to connect a cross-over cat-5 ethernet cable from the network card of the desktop into the WAN port of the wireless router. Once that is hooked up you will need to enable Internet Connection Sharing or (ICS) on the Host/desktop. This will share the internet from the USB modem, to the network card and ultimately to the Router through the ethernet cable. You MUST use a crossover cat-5 cable, a normal ethernet cable WILL NOT work. You may be able to buy a crossover at BestBuy or any big electronic store but they are a specialty item and usually cost more than a normal cat-5. Once ICS is enabled and it the desktop is patched to the router then setup the router the same exact way you would if you were connecting a cable-modem to it, but in this case the desktop/host is ACTING like a cable modem to the router. At this point everything should be working smooth and you should be able to connect to your wireless router and be online.

In case you need to make your own crossover, here is a diagram: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable

Trust me, this solution works. Dont let anyone tell you that you can't share internet from a wireless USB modem. it just takes a few steps, thats all.
