Will my steering wheel on my 2004 Jeep Grand turn by loosining the nut,

allowing me to return to 3 and 6? My steering wheel sits at 12 and 6 position (on a clock) when the wheels are straight. After disconnecting the negative battery lead, taking the airbag out, and loosening the 7/8" nut that holds the wheel on, will I be able to turn the wheel on the spindle to return it back to the 3 and 9 position?
