Will my iphone 4 work in India b'coz I am going to purchase it in Qatar ?

I am going to purchase iphone 4 in Qatar but I have a doubt that I'm taking it to India with me, so will it work there? As I will be using the Vodafone India Micro-Simcard in it in India, so will the network work? Btw, It's from AT&T communication.
