will my att prepaid sim card work in my samsung A777 or NOKIA 6555?

okay i drop ed my 2 year contract and got a prepaid sim card from wall-mart and activated it and im using the phone the phone it came with now but i wanted to use one of my old contract phones ive done it before with a prepaid sim card why wont it work this time
