I recently slid into a garbage truck on a slippery and snowy road that caused my right front headlight to be totally smashed to pieces. There may be some structural damage to the mold that holds this light in place. My front hood is also rather crumpled and will need to be replaced. Other than that the car is fine. Unfortunately my Autopac appointment is not until December 6th so I'm going to be left desperately wondering for the next 10 days.
I know my car is old so I know there is a decent chance it's going to be written off. Honestly, I really really don't want this to happen. I very much like this car and it's devastating for me to see it every day knowing I might soon lose it altogether when I can still drive it without any issues. I understand I can buy it back from Autopac if they do write it off at a significantly reduced price, but I'm only willing to go so far and above to pay for the repairs myself. Does anyone with some experience or knowledge have some more information on this? Am I really looking at a write off here?
