My husband is trying to take advantage of that Obama financial relief so we can save money on our mortgage.We are still waiting approval.
My sister just got $19,000 of insurance money for a house that we inherited. It turns out there was a lot of damage and we need it to be fixed up.
If I put that money in the bank under my name will I have to pay taxes on that insurance money? And if I put that insurance money in the bank under my name will will the mortgage company see it thus hurting my chances for a mortgage reduction?
