Will leaving the light on in my fish tank kill my fish ?

I'm new to the hobby. I have one goldfish, and two glo-fish... I just want to know if I leave my light on all the time will it kill them?

I keep the water right around 73 with a small heater...Since I have had the heater the fish are a lot more active. Even the gold fish. Thanks for the helpfull answers everyone!!
