I recently just got an LG Optimus Chat smartphone with koodo. My plan is $15 a month which includes 50 minutes + a $5 add-on for unlimited texting. I have no internet or data plan whatsoever, but on other internet devices that I have at home, (laptop, iPod Touch) I use wifi from my router. There's an option to connect to wifi on my phone, and I have before. I entered my password and it said it was connected to my wifi. I went to YouTube and I kinda wanna use the internet on my phone using my wifi, but I'm afraid I'll get charged. The top bar of my phone shows a 3G symbol, so I'm not sure if it's using my Wifi or 3G. I try to stay off the internet, but I'm also worried I'm getting charged extra for 3G being on, but I can't find an option to turn it off. Sorry this is confusing, but my questions are;
Will I get charged for using home wifi on my phone without a data plan?
Will I get charged for having the 3G symbol on if I don't use internet?
How do I know if it's using 3G or wifi when I'm on the internet?
