front half has old filling? My dentist found a small cavity in the back half of a molar which has an old silver filling in the front half of it. I'm going tomorrow to have the old filling drilled out and then get one full silver filling (yuck!). The dentist does not want to numb it, since he says I will only feel the drilling in the back of my tooth for a minute and it will not be as deep as the front half which just contains old silver down to the gum line and it won't hurt to drill the old filling. Should I take his advice and let him just quickly drill down the back of my tooth?
