eccentric phase? Hello, my name is Scott and I'm 18. I wanna do pull ups and chin ups and push ups for home training. I joined gymnastics a few months ago and I just realized how much I love the ability to control my body. Now that I'm getting more serious I wanna do home training for more power and control. I searched online and read that gymnastics need more power than endurance so you need more fast twitch muscle fibers than slow twitch, but you shouldn't completely ignore slow twitch fibers.
So my question is if I will get the most benefits from going fast concentric phase (going up) and going slow at the eccentric phase (going down) in a pull up/chin up? Or Should I do them all fast or sets of all fast and sets of all slow. I am aiming to build my body for gymnastics. So I need more power and control. I have no money for gym memberships and I have no weights at home except for 12 pound dumbbells.
