Will I see a significant increase in performance if I upgrade my graphics card?

I have a computer with an AMD Athlon 2.2GHz 3500+ processor with 2GB of PC3200 RAM.

I currently only have a graphics card with 128MB of memory.
Will my computer's performance increase if I upgrade it to 512MB?

I forgot to mention, I'm planning to run photo editing software such as Photoshop and Lightroom since I do photography, that's why I'm asking if a new graphics card will make these programs run smoother.
 
It may if you are using Windows Vista witht he effects turned on. but the best way to up your speed is to get more RAM
