Ok well i'm 19 and have a wedge compression fracture T11 with no known cause as of yet, i've been in constant pain with my back since waking up from my appendectomy on the 2nd of february 2008, before that i had never had any pain in my back. then in In august i found out about the fracture! in may i was recieveing treatment from an osteopath, as one doctor said i had a minor upper thoracic curve, and then the osteopath said i had a large middle to lower inward curve...I am now waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon, will i need an operation on my spine to help relieve the pain due to the fracture?
(pain medication that i've had so far is, paracetamol, ibuprofen, tramadol, co-codamol, co-dyramol, temgesic. I have also taken anti inflamitory's, diclofenac and meloxicam) and I am now on 8 paracetamol, 6 dihydrocodeine, and 3 amytriptyline per day.. is there anything else they will try, or is the only option going to be surgery?
