Will i lose my unlock if i update to iOS 5?

i have a iPhone 3GS on 4.3.5 with a 5.16.02 baseband , i wanted to know that if i update to iOS 5 will i lose my unlock or not , i want to update because of two things , 1.jailbreak , 2.the awesome features in iOS 5 , so please help me out if there's anyway for update without losing unlock
there is no untethered jailbreak for 4.3.5 so i didnt do the tethered one ,i need to know if i will lose my unlock when i update
