I have problems parking. For some reason I always go too far past the lines. Out of curiosity what do they fail you for when you are taking a driving test. I have seen people who have their license but still don't park straight.

if you can't park good, you'll fail. it really all depends on the instructor. it needs to be good, not like you're going to hit a parked car. take it slow when parking. let your mind catch up and process what is being done. most inexperienced people drive in a space too fast. good luck

Unless you do something real bad.your graded over all.poor parking skills alone will not fail you.just do everything else right.GOOD LUCK!

The only parking I had to do on my road test, was paralell. On my test it was the first and only time I've ever paralell parked.

Most people with regular parking spaces will park to one side over the other.

Recommendations-

Enter the parking spot slowly. This will allow you time to correct how far you are to one line over the other. Use the fact that you are next to a window to judge how far you are going into the parking spot. See the line as you enter the space, allow apprx. one foot of spac between your view and the line. This should try and center you better.

As for the test-
It depends on the state, and the person grading you. Some are more forgiving then others. The point of road test are more for the aspect of high speed on the road travel rather than a dinky parking space. Thats more of an insurance company issue rather than a licensed driver issue ;)

Do your best, practicing as much as possible!

no if you mess up, just say,"ooops did i do that?"

the guy thought it was really funny and sais, "haven't heard that in a long time"
