Will i fail my BTEC if i don't do key skills?

its coming to the end of the term and i have completed all of my BTEC coursework up to DDD (3 distinctions) but i have not even started my key skills this year. I did two sets last year and it took days to correct it to the standard where it will be accepted. So this year i haven;'t bothered.

Is there anyone who knows if they will take my BTEC away from me if i don't do key skills? previous experience would be good.
