You will be laughed at, simply because people will think that when one joins the military, all one does is training and fighting. Seeing someone who specializes in a job that is so far off from such socially accepted norm, people will laugh.
That is not to say that there aren't those who view cooks to be valuable assets to the military, as well as those who judge people based on what their true characteristics are, not merely by what job they have chosen. You'll have good people like that too.
