I wanted to know if it is possible (in general) to buy phones with contracts on AT&T and break the contract and pay the fine (Isn't that how you buy iPhones without contracts on AT&T and pay the 600$?)
The reason is that I am interested in the Motorola Atrix but I'm not a US resident atm so I'm also not an AT&T customer. So will I be able to buy the phone, break the contract and put my carrier's sim card in (do the phones work only with the certain carrier?)?
