Will humans ever not judge others?

I was at a retreat today and basically all day heard so much judgmental talk - everything from people making fun of someone because they liked the Jonas brothers, to saying terrible things about someone because their brother was gay, to making fun of someone because their hobby was knitting. It was crazy - why can't we just live and let live???
