Will Hay The Goose Steps Out Missing Footage

Love Will Hay films , they are never shown at all on TV. Total disgrace that these comic gems are seemingly tucked away , while hours upon hours of total crap are broadcast at will.

:)

The Goose Steps Out is available in its entirety on VHS (new) from Amazon. I have just ordered it :)

I've got a friend with a VHS to DVD converter, and will make good use of it.

Alternatively, you can get a full version as a VHS rip from the news groups... check www NZBIndex com. It's perfectly watchable, but the vid they used to make it was obviously quite old.

There's also a digitally remastered "Where's That Fire"... one of the best remastering I have come across. I bought this, but it is also on the news groups. As far as I am concerned if they put out a good version, then it should be bought. If they make a hack job, then forget them and get a ripped one, until a good one comes out.

Apparently Fox is one of the culprits in the Will Hay films not being shown for a long time. They own the rights, and are not releasing them. Well, we know what to say and do about that boys and girls. don't we "Carry On Ripping" :)

It's a shame they disappeared from TV. Channel 4 and BBC2 seemed to hold the rights from the mid - late 90s; most of them were shown in rotation, and at least twice. I notice BBC2 currently are suddenly putting black and white films into the morning schedule - perhaps a correspondence campaign mightn't go amiss.

As the tide runs low in the smugglers cove, and the headless horsman is seen above. He drives along with wild halo! Lickety split Lickedy Split.

LOL, I visualised the exact scene, and I haven't seen the film in years.

Going to have to chuck it into the DVD now. Most recent Will Hay film I have acquired, and an eBay purchase ! Always a bit dodgy as to whether or not it will be an original, but this one is (Onyx Media International, digitally remastered). There were two, but I just checked and the 2nd has gone as well. And it does not look like it is being distributed any more.

I wish more of the classics would get a digitally remastered job. definitely worth buying. They've done it to all the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films, and they look great. That's gone down as an early Christmas present to myself (very early)
