Do you guys think that football, as in soccer, will ever overtake the american sports in america?

Lads, how can you say its slow moving. Its the fastest team spost on the planet, with the possible exception of ice hockey, and perhaps basketball. American football is so stop-start and it takes hours! And it's way more intense! There's passion in football like no other sport - that can't really be disputed.
But americans are so passionate about their football, and your crowds are still intense. I thought it might have caught on like a fire! I know american players are just getting better and better, so I was wondering if the sport over there is growing massively in popularity.
