I recently bought a new net-book with Windows 7 installed on it. The game requirements say that Civilization IV will run on Windows Vista. It installed fine on my computer, but when I tried to play the game it came up with an error message that looked something like this:
Initialize Renderer failed. Check DirectX Installation, Latest Graphics Drivers and Graphics Settings
Parameters:
-width =1024
-height =768
-flags =0xc
-hwnd =ox404a2
-adaptrid=0
-deviceid=3
Error:Creation failed: Could not match desired fullscreen
I tried installing Direct X 9.0 on my computer because from looking at other people's problems that's what seemed to help. I also tried installing the latest patch for Civilization IV. Neither worked.I would greatly appreciate anyone's help who knows more about this than I do.
