Murdoch backed him at the Election? Ben Bradshaw was carrying out a review for the The Labour government to decide which of the sporting 'Crown Jewels' should be returned to terrestrial television. Is that all out of the window now that Dave & his boy are in control?!?

Nope.
It was Tony Bliar, who cuddled up to the Dirty Digger, with vague suggestions that the BBC monopoly might be broken - to the further enrichment of Murdoch's Sky/Fox Empire.
The insolent Sun boasted 'We won it' for NuLabour - only to find the BBC continues as before - despite huge confrontations with Bliar, and his somewhat distorted a/c for invading Iraq.
NuLabour did little, apart from forever 'reviewing' - delaying - postponing decisions - so whatever the charming Ben Bradshaw was up to, reviewing or whatever - I doubt it would have led to anything.
(Nice chap - speaks well - but I'm not sure he actually DOES anything.)
With the insolent Sun switching sides - in a stalemate coalition - Murdoch's weight in such matters seems to have fallen by more than a few stones - so I'd guess his bargaining chips are somewhat fewer than he hoped for.
(The Sun didn't won it for nobody)
KLUNK !!!
I'm only guessing of course. but I'd bet a ton of toothpaste that CONSERVATIVE Davcam will restore back to 'terrestial' some of the jewels lost to satellite.

If he doesn't - you can rest assured he'll get an earful of verbals from your's truly.
; )))
