Strengthen calve muscles, and help tone thighs? I just thought since the weather is warming up I would start riding my bike on the trails. Please let me know if there are any other mucles biking helps. Thanks.
You use the gluts, hip, quads, hamstring, and calf muscles. You want to pedal at a high cadence 70-90 rpm's with a lite pressure on the pedals. That will allow your body to use fat as a fuel and will help keep your legs from getting tired. Climbing hills will work the gluts and hamstring muscles more.
Start out with short 20 min rides untill your butt gets use to the saddle.
Works for me i do alot of downhill and pushing back up with a 45lb bike does the trick. Yeah sure it will help but just enjoy it as well don't just think about getting fit.
