Will ANY sim work with unlocked phones bought in the USA?

There's this phone I saw on Amazon.com, Nokia 1208 unlocked cellphone with 850mhz band. Does that mean I can use ANY sim card with that phone? I have a Philippine sim card. Will it work? I've been trying to find unlock phones and wasn't sure if they would work with my sim card. There are US version unlocked phones, dual band unlocked phones.

Need help ASAP!
 
It is true that you can swap simcards in an unlocked phone.Locked phones need to get unlocked through network provider or third party unlocks like Classicunlocking.com .But Nokia 1208 supports only GSM network and so you cannot use it with any GSM network but not CDMA.
