Will any GSM phone fully function with Viaero Wireless?

Ok, so I want to buy an unlocked HTC Desire or Legend, but I'm not quite sure if they will both work with my Viaero sim card. I don't currently have internet on my plan, but i wanted to know if they would work on 3G or if I could even get the internet on them to work if i had it on my plan?
