Will and unlocked Droid or 3G Iphone work for the $1 a day T-Mobile pay as you go plan?

I was looking to buy a unlocked Droid or 3G Iphone and my main question is either of those would work for the T-Mobile $1 a day pas as you go plan, and if all the apps and Internet would work?

Another question I had was should I get the unlocked Droid or 3G Iphone? What are the differences between the Droid and the 3G Iphone?
