will an iphone 3g case fit correctly on a 2G?

I am considering buying an older 2g instead of a 3G because they are essentially the same phone (minus GPS,and speaker quality). In preparation i had already purchased a case for a 3g and I'm wondering if it will work for the 2G Wikipedia specifies that the only difference is a .02in difference in depth. Anyone have any experience?
 
most cases for the iphone are actually pretty snug. so if you have a 3g case, it will be really snug for the 3g and it just might be a little roomier on your 2g. I'm pretty sure the difference wont' be that big, it just depends if you're okay with that.
