will an 88 jeep cherokee transmission fit a 88 jeep wrangler?

In order to actually answer this question you need to be more specific..I'd need to know the following

what kind of motor does the cherokee have and what kind of motor does the wrangler have?

are they both stick?

is one auto and one stick?
