Will an 84 Toyota 22R carburetor work on an 81 22r engine?

provided the mounting holes are the same and the cable and plumbing are compatible there should not be any problems. make sure that all the necessary hoses are connected as the later carb may have some extra hose fittings which may need to be blocked off
 
I have an 81 Toyota Pickup with a carbureted 22R engine. The carburetor needs a rebuild but I have an 84 carburetor off another 22R that is already rebuilt. They look slightly different but I want to know if I can just change them out. It will get me working for now, I can have the 81 carb rebuilt later. Thanks
