if you fit the straight wings to a car it will not fly, it will only fly when you give the wing contour of an aeroplane and jjet to the car.
similarly a ball can not swing all the time for selective people unless you tamper it and use the differnce on both sides to make the swing happen.

Bernoulli's theorem is the basis of this fiddling, the velocity difference on two sides due to changed contour of the ball on two sides and polishing on one side make this happen with old ball also.
