Will a transmission flush cure my problems in my chrysler 300m?

I've got a 99 chrysler 300m that had a new transmission put in just over a year ago. I've been having the same problems that I was having before (The car goes into "limp mode", which means it sticks in 2nd gear). I read about a pair of transmission sensors that might fix the problem, and while replacing one of them, I found a TON of metal shavings on the tip that went into the transmission. I know that metal shavings are bad in any situation, but I wonder if it is a result of the "break-in" period. If the transmission can't be fixed, I'm going to part the car out or sell it for scrap, because a new transmission costs the same as the car itself.

I'm wondering if doing a transmission flush (between 100 and 200 dollars, I believe, installing those two sensors (free, since I already have them and they're easy to get to, and getting the computer reprogrammed (don't remember how much the stealership charged my last time) will solve my problem? Or is it a lost cause and maybe I should just get rid if it before throwing more money into it?
The shavings aren't big pieces.. Imagine if you could melt down the lead of a pencil, until it was a liquid. that's what it looks like, I guess from the shavings and the trans fluid mixing together. I guess if it was completely dry, it would be more like a very fine powder/dust
