I've had my Galaxy S II stolen and now have an old C300 as a temp. replacement. The C300 appears to be locked to the Orange UK network, but the simcard for the Galaxy S II is T-Mobile. Since both Orange and T-Mobile are now 'partners', I assumed that the simcard would work but it doesn't. Is this because the old phone doesn't recognise the T-Mobile sim as being linked with Orange or is it because the simcard is for 3G / modern phones only? I believe the C300 is not a 3G phone and I think modern sim cards may be different to the old ones.
I don't want to pay any money unlocking this old thing if the sim card that I've got will still not be recognised.
I know I could no doubt pick up a cheap phone for ?10 but I'm still curious to know about this C300.
Thanks
