Will a keyless remote bought from Ebay work for a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT?

I bought a used 2004 Ford Explorer XLT. The previous owner no longer had the keyless remote, so I have none. I see one can buy a remote on Ebay. Will I be able to program that remote myself? Or, will I need to take it to a dealer to program it? Like I said, I have no other remote. Thanks.
