will a iphone 4s with no data plan work koodo even if i bought the iphone from some were else?

ok i have a plan that is 100 minutes of calling and unlimited texting and a couple months ago we blocked useing data. well i just got an unlocked iphone 4s i am wondering if i can just go to koodo in the mall and get a micro sim card and put it im my iphone and it will work or will i need to get a new plan with data thanks
