I have a 1996 Honda Civic Hatchback DX with a d16y7 engine. I just bought some DC 4-1 headers for a 96-00 Honda Civic EX d16y8 and I noticed that they are shorter than my other aftermarket headers (that arent carb legal, thats why I went with the DCs). I know that the DX headers have the catalytic converter in the engine bay attached towards the top end of the headers. My question is if I get an EX cat converter, which is located underneath the car where the downpipes are, will it work? And if so, will it be able to pass smog?? Let me know! Thanks!
