Bought a Hyper-tech max energy unit for download and a cold air intake for my 07 H2. I purchased the items for increased fuel mileage (not for screaming down the road). I still have a majority of the warranty left. One dealer said it will only void the warranty if it's deemed the download etc caused a problem as stated by federal law. Second dealer said it automatically voids the the warranty and furthermore GM has a computer that can tell if a download was ever done regardless if I return it back to spec prior to taking it into them. I also heard that if you unplug the battery for 30 min it clears out the computer so the dealer will never know there was a download. Anyone have a definite answer or is it just a subjective question that different dealerships have different answers for?
