Will a 60 watt lamb affect my betta fish? Does my snail have too many plants?

i have a 60 watt desk lamp. My betta's bowl is on a display shelf right next to my desk. If i put the light over the bowl will it heat the bowl a bit for a warmer water for Simon? I also have a little aquarium plant in his bowl. Will that benefit too?

to save points i have a second question now that im thinking of aquarium plants; i also have a snail. He is in a 1/2 gallon thing and has one big aquatic plant and one small aquatic plant. Is that too many? I can take some out.

the 60 watt bulb will be good for your betta, just don't leave it on all the time. I advise a thermometer that will either stick to the bottom of his bowl or that will sink to the bottom of the bowl so you can monitor the temperature. If you see him hiding on the opposite side of the tank away from the light, turn it off until the water cools down a little.

Live plants are more of a mess than they are worth (if you are referring to your betta bowl) and will require much more cleaning than necessary. For a betta, I advise a silk plant that he can use as shade (from this great lamp idea of yours) and as a place to hide, which bettas are very fond of.
