Will a 2003 Dodge Neon Auto transmission fit in a 2002 Dodge Neon?

I have a 2002 Dodge Neon that needs a "new" automatic transmission. I was told that only a 2002 would fit perfect, but that a different year may only require a different electronic sensor. Please help!
