enough juice to start the car once? About a week ago Washington State got a crazy snow storm in which I kept my car in the parking lot since it is a real wheel drive. About a week of not starting (or driving) it, it cranked up and after about a minute of running cut off. When I tried to restart it, it would not start. Three hours later I tried to start it and it fired right up only to shut off 30 seconds later. It keeps doing the same thing when I wait several hours to restart it. Is it that I need a new car battery since I heard that cold weather can take its toll on a car battery? Thanks for the info in advance.

i would try a battery get 1 at your local junk yard for 20 bucks and if it still is doing this it could be your alternator if this is bad it will drain your battery.fuel pump might be going bad or clogged fuel filter.i would try all of these if your doing steps but i would try you fuel filter first.

A car should continue to run after starting, even if the battery is flat. You can even disconnect the battery and if will run, so there must be something else wrong. Sorry I can't be more help.

If you think it's the battery , why don't you put a charger on the battery or jump start the car to see if the car will stay running with the other power going though the battery while the car is running. i believe it's going to be your alternator, because the car starts up with your weak battery and once it starts the alternator should keep the car running if it's any good.
