will 2.1 let you send files through bluetooth on 3g mytouch

I don't see why not. It works just fine on the Droid 2.1. I just gave it a try with 28Mb video and had no problems. Sending it over wifi is much faster though.
 
You don't need 2.1, just download a program called "Bluetooth File Transfer" from the market. It will allow you to send and recieve files over bluetooth. It works great on my Nexus with 2.1, my friends Droid when it had 2.0 and my gf's Cliq XT running 1.5. It has a small learning curve, but once you do it once, it's easy.
