Here are some of the wackiest, outrageous, wildest takes in animation:

Donald's mental breakdown in "Donald's Tire Trouble".

The 'Clampett Corneal Catastropie' in "Book Revue".

Every one of the wolf's takes in "Northwest Hounded Police".

Spike's mental breakdown in "Droopy's Double Trouble".

Tom's eyes rolling in "Mouse For Sale".

Tom's take in "Tom's Photo Finish" that takes up the whole CinemaScope screen!

Ren's epic reaction to the sergent right behind him in "In The Army".

Ren's skin bursting off in "Who's Stupid Now".

Dracula finding out the Warners are in his coffin in "Draculee, Dracula".

Every time Chris Griffin says "WHAAAAAA..."

Quagmire's reaction to the porno in "And I'm Joyce Kinney".

and more! Name yours!

A wild take is a character's (over)reaction facial expression and in cartoons, animation allows for some interesting and memorable expressions. Quagmire's on today's Family Guy is a great example and I'm sure it was the inspiration for this thread. I'll think of some more of my own later.

One I've always liked is Ren's take at the end of "Man's Best Friend". Screaming, veins bursting from his tongue...it's just epic. And I saw it including in a music video on an old VHS tape for Son of Stimpy years before I ever saw the cartoon. What a tease.
