Wii Updates

I'm having problems with updating my Wii. I would test the internet connection and it would pass but then when I get to the update screen it stalls and just sits there for a long while... Anyone else having this problem?

No problems here The updates took a few minutes each, but the progress bar was always moving.

Mine froze on me the very first time I got online with it. I bounced it and it's been fine since.

So you need to update your Wii with firmware? What does it do? Is this from the internet?

My firmware update worked perfectly this morning, took about 5-8 minutes for all updates...however everything went smooth as butta.

Because you cant use the internet without updating... also one quick question, is the light in front of the wii where the discs goes in.. How do you turn that light on, it just turns on when i press the power button and then turns off

but you're using the internet and connecting to your router while you are downloading the update right...? Or is it from a disc?

Router... I fixed it. Thanks for all the help. Though i do need to find out if that light is suspose to stay on or not in front beacuse mine is off... kinda liked the blue light where the disc goes in.

The disc slot light illuminates only when the console is turned on either by hitting the power button or by inserting a game disc.

It also turns on when you have WiiConnect24 turned on, the light glows when you are receiving data in the background.

It turns off otherwise. Think theres also a setting to change it to dim or bright.
