Wii sound problem.

Finally got my Wii!! Got everything hooked up right (I think), however in the Wii menu the sound only comes out of one speaker (5.1 speaker system) and it is very distorted and staticy at any volume. As soon as I go to play a game the sound is good again. I've tried changing the Wii Sound Setttings but it still happens, one speaker and horrible sound.

Anyone know what could be wrong? Is it a connection issue or is that just how the Wii menu is?
 
Well I checked all the connections and its still happening....Anyone else have this problem?

Maybe this is just normal for the Wii menu/channels.
 
Congrats on the Wii. Thats odd that you're having that problem. Mine sounds fine and comes out of both speakers. Did download the latest update?
 
Yep all updated. Doesn't matter if I choose Mono, Stereo, Surround. It contiunally does the same thing and on every update. And its weird cuz its just the menu/channels - the actual games play sound perfect - so it isn't the speaker.

Gonna keep playing with it unless someone else has ideas.
