Wii Game Channel coming?

So now that Nintendo's officially launched their News Channel, rumor on the Net has it that they're now working on a Games Channel that'll let you download original games (i.e., not classics) straight from the Web.

The folks at online gaming site Computer & Video Games contacted Nintendo who said...

"Nintendo has developed a programming system that will allow small independent developers to make games for Wii download service. We cannot confirm at this time in what format the new content will be delivered, but in the future there will be original games available for download through the Wii Shop." The idea is great, and as long as the games are good that's one channel we'd tune into. ? Louis Ramirez

Nah, I'm yankin' chains

A friend has been sending a letter every week to Sega or America, Sega of Europe, and Sega or Japan pleading to bring back Sega Channel. When I told him Wii would have "channels" he interupted me before I could explain it, and he said, "channels? channel? Seg--- Sega Channel?"

That's what he's been telling me. Takes his paycheck every other week, cashes it, and takes it next door to the post office and sends 'em off. I believe he stopped sending them to Europe after the YTMND escapade, and then Japan because they never had Sega Channel. However, he's been doing this for about a month or so now, and he always tells me when he does.

And I always tell him it ain't happenin'.
